Meet Our Children

All of our orphans…

came from the eastern part of the Congo DRC. We strategically chose this area because, according to the International Rescue Committee, at least 5.4 million people have died in eastern Congo since 1998. Various rebel groups continue to operate in the region today, terrorizing local citizens with rape and murder. All our orphaned children lost their parents in this violence.

Meet little Miss Kobie MacKenzie

Please meet Kobie MacKenzie.

This baby is named after one of our senior board members Mrs. Kobie MacKenzie.

Little Ms. MacKenzie is three days old now (born May 8, 2022). A couple of days ago Ms. MacKenzie was found in a trash bag inside a dumpster, in the city of Kinshasa Congo DRC. The people who found her brought her to the local authorities. In a search for a good home for her, the authorities interviewed a few organizations, faith based community leaders, and our organization. They concluded that our orphanage is the safest environment and sustainable home for Ms. MacKenzie.

After obtaining Ms. MacKenzie, the first thing we did was to take her to the hospital, where they examined her and determined that she is in good health. She was discharged and is at the orphanage as we speak. The baby is healthy, strong and eating well.

Ms. MacKenzie had a very sad beginning, but now we have found each other! No more suffering, no more pain, and no more crying inside the dumpster. You are now one of us, you are our responsibility to love and to care for. Welcome home dear Kobie MacKenzie.
